Where has February gone! We have continued to have rain on and off in Fremont, but we were very excited to have a few days of sunshine and 70+ degrees this week. Tanner and Parker have been loving it. They have made up new games and generally lived outside in the back yard.
Early in the month Darryl and I set up a big date. We went to see Avatar in IMax 3D. We set it up with our friends to do a trade. We watched their kids while they went to the theater, then they took Tanner for the evening while we went. Parker was sick with a really nasty cold so we still had to get one of the young women to come over to babysit. The movie was cool because of the effects, but not really our style of storyline.
Darryl spent the month working from home and traveling up to Sacramento. He's now officially working out of the new office, but because of the transition he is still helping to finish up with some of his other clients here in the bay area. He is also the king of researching appliances. We needed to buy a couple of things for the new house and he found some great deals and read a bunch of consumer reviews. We are hoping that we chose well.
I have been doing a lot of interpreting and attempting to finish up projects before we leave the area. The dance studio I've been working with was recently invited to produce the Nutcracker for Christmas 2010 in Oakland. It's a huge undertaking and I've been helping the Studio owner to work out the details and prepare for the event. It helps me realize the magnitude of large productions as well as the headache and reward of owning a studio.

Tanner is a fun and crazy guy. He spends most of his days on his head. He loves headstands on the couch, on the floor on the walls outside and anywhere else he can balance upside down. He recently learned how to snap his fingers. That one is not my favorite because he picked up the habit of snapping at me and saying, "Mommy I want.......right now." I now have a better understanding of why waiters hate it when you snap your fingers. Tanner also has a PJ fetish. He loves to wear his pajamas. Especially the ones with his name on them. He puts them on every day around 6 pm and comes charging out of his room so proud that he's ready for bed.

This past week, Tanner's school celebrated Valentine's Day with a party. We made rocket ship valentines that said "Have a Blast" on them. We wrapped up a mini marker with construction paper then glued on a chocolate kiss to the front and a paper flame to the back. They turned out cute. Tanner had fun at the school party and decided that he needed to dress up like Minny Mouse in order to attend. He has a very strong will so talking him out of it wasn't happening. I think he may regret the pictures later in life.

Parker is our walking man. He is walking all over the place now. He took his first steps on his own several weeks ago, now there is no stopping him. He is so tiny and loves to be a streaker after a bath. We all laugh when he gets so excited to run naked in the hall. Parker also loves the dirt. He digs in our planter boxes and dumps the dirt on his head. He loves the backyard and tries desperately to keep up with his big brother. He's all smiles and makes Dadadadada noises which we hope means something. He is so fun to have around.
The rest of our life has been focused on our big relocation to Elk Grove. We close on our new house this Friday if all goes well. Darryl and I have been frantically putting together documents for our lender. The house is wonderful and we are very excited.
You guys are moving to Elk Grove, California. That's like, down the street from Hicksville and around the corner from Dogtown. Real classy.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Miss you guys.
We're so excited for you and can't wait to hear how things are once you get settled!
