What a beautiful month we have had. It is getting so close to baby day! We have been laying low and hoping for our new little bundle to come soon.

Tanner is loving Preschool. His teacher is miss Mallory and she does such cute things for each of the holidays. For Mother's day Karen Seely was in town so she and I were invited to Tanner's class to make a craft and listen to some songs the kids had prepared for us. Tanner was a little shy, but with some encouragement he helped me make a flower vase and a card. He is doing really well with writing his name. He LOVES the monkey bars at the playground and he can ride his bike up and down the street.
Parker's language is really starting to grow. He is very expressive wants so badly to keep up with his brother. He doesn't understand that a new baby will really change his world and he is so little it's hard for me to even grasp that we can have another baby around our house. In preparation for the new little munchkin, we had a garage sale. We sold lots of stuff we didn't want. Tanner and Parker helped get everything sold, and helped the neighbors clear out their closets by bringing it all home. The favorite find was a diaper changing table that perfectly matches our crib. Our next door neighbor had it from a friend and we got it for a great deal. Tanner found a toy beaver and a stuffed turtle. Parker got some cars.


I'm not the only one around here that is ready to have a new baby. Eva Valdez is expecting her 3rd baby at the end of June, so Katie Ryan and I gave her a baby shower for her baby boy. It was fun. We had about 15 ladies come. We ate some snacks, played "guess the celebrity baby" and chatted about having boys. My favorite part was all of the advice and stories for Eva.

Darryl's parents came to town to join us for the graduation ceremony for Brandon Savage (brother in law). The ceremony was in San Francisco on Sunday May 8th (Mother's Day). We got a babysitter for our boys and I totally enjoyed listening to the speakers at the ceremony. They were brilliant and had wonderful wisdom to share with the Wharton graduates. After the ceremony we had lunch in a gorgeous hall and chatted with many of the other families of the graduates. We are really excited for Brandon. He worked very hard and hopefully this will lead to some wonderful opportunities.

One of my highlights of the month was girls night out. Darryl took the boys on a "campout" to the Sly park for the Father's and Sons. They couldn't stay overnight because Darryl had Drill first thing the next morning. While the boys were away, I went to Suzette Leger's home for a movie and delicious popcorn courtesy of Holli Blankenbiller.

In Young Women's we were able to celebrate the graduation of 2 of our young women. Tori and Jordan are headed to BYU Provo this summer and they have been awesome in our ward. To honor their achievements, we did a BBQ in the park with all of the youth. Some of the girls came to my house the day before and helped make the grad cakes. It was fun to have a little bakery in my house. The BBQ was fun and we got a chance to play games and eat even though the wind was pretty strong that evening.
For fun and games, this month Darryl took the boys to Micke Grove Zoo to see the Lorakeets. They went with our friends the Ryans. We also went to the park for Isabelle Valdez's birthday party. A professional face painter came and painted the kids faces. They also broke a pinata and had a fantastic time eating candy and playing around at the park. We have such wonderful friends.

As I'm coming down to the end of my pregnancy, I'm very ready to be done. I was diagnosed with borderline gestational diabetes, but my blood sugars have been very normal. I feel very fortunate that there hasn't been a lot of problems with my pregnancy. I just feel like a whale. My parents flew in to town to help us prep for the new arrival and celebrate Memorial Day. We had fun at Fairy Tale Town and a BBQ with all the neighbors. During the BBQ everyone had their 2 cents about what we should name our new baby. Kate Turner (age 7) thinks we should name her dream sparkle. That may be our winner! Luckily Mom can stay for a couple of weeks to help me out. The boys are thrilled to have her here.
