Happy rainy February from Elk Grove. We have had a fun month running around crazy as usual. To keep ourselves entertained we have had to come up with some fun activities. Tanner is really into board games and Parker loves to take naps. Sometimes in unusual places.

Pregnancy has been exhausting but fun to anticipate a new little one. We are excited to find out that we will be having a GIRL! To celebrate the good news, Janine planned a baby shower for me with all of our lovely Fremont friends. We went down to Fremont during a drill weekend to play and have some photos taken, and when we arrived there was a party waiting for us. It was great fun and made me ache for my walking buddies and park friends. We munched on some great food and opened very cute girl clothes.

Another fun event this month was Valentine's Day. Tanner is loving preschool and decided to make valentines for his class and every friend and family member he could think of. The Valentine had a dump truck on the front and it said, "Just thought you could use a load of Love". Tanner put on the glittery glue and helped put in the lolly pops. I think I enjoy the school art projects more than Tanner. For the actual Valentine's Day holiday we hosted the Missionaries for dinner and made a heart shaped dessert and called it a day. Darryl is not really into the romantic stuff and we love to spend our time with the kids we love so much, so it was a great holiday.

At church this month we are working on emergency preparedness. We had a mock disaster drill with the Stake. Each ward was supposed to contact every member in the ward and have them report back to the church with their 72 hr kits and a list of emergency equipment that they already had. It was an eye opening experience when I couldn't account for some major supplies that we are missing. We did get our 72 hour kits together, but we have a lot of work still to do.

One of the fun events for me this month was a birthday party for my good friend Suzette Leger. She hasn't had a birthday party for awhile, so I thought it would be fun to host one at a local Thai food restaurant called Royal Thai. It's a small shop, and we had about 12 ladies come. We all tried a few new things and had a great time laughing and chatting the evening away. To top off the evening Natalie Gessell brought raspberry cupcakes for us to devour. They were awesome. We had so much fun and I was sad to see the evening end.

My responsibilities at church have been keeping me on my toes. There are 12 young women that I'm working with and they are going in a hundred different directions. One of the Seniors is on a club cheer leading team and they were invited to nationals this year. To honor her accomplishment, we made a fancy cake for her with a megaphone on top. The girls had a good time making it and delivering it. I liked the baking time to chat with the girls and find out all about high school.
